Freedom and Land Movement Community Center
Ilhéus/BA - 2005
In November 2005, our team was invited to design the Community Center for the Freedom and Land Movement in Ilhéus, Bahia. The project involved training and equipping local labor during construction to enable the building of future homes for 25 families who had gained ownership of an old farm after eight years of settlement.
The technology was successfully transferred, allowing the construction of homes using the 5,000 reais provided to each family by the National Institute for Agrarian Reform (INCRA). Sustainability was recognized as the only viable approach to making these constructions possible.
The entire community participated actively in the work with great enthusiasm, ensuring the project's success.
