EcoFactories
The work within Sustainable EcoFactories, located in the communities and neighborhoods themselves and involving the local population that receives waste from EcoPoints and repurposes it, fosters understanding, awareness, and analysis of environmental issues. It also enables the classification of local resources that can be utilized to implement sustainable development principles, including human resource training and the promotion of local eco-tourism.
The primary focus of this segment of the project is to address two of the most pressing issues our country faces: waste accumulation and the housing shortage for the underprivileged (45% of the global population lacks adequate housing). These are tackled through an innovative synergy (the whole is greater than the sum of its parts). The idea is to work with the only material universally produced by humanity—waste (often viewed with a pejorative lens)—by repurposing it into a new, clean, and sustainable architecture (turning "waste" into "luxury")!
This approach acts as a complete digestive and respiratory system for urban health—breaking down the old and recreating the new. It promotes self-esteem, value, quality of life, professionalization, income generation, and excellent architecture for the majority.
