Waldorf School
Agudos /SP - 2014
In early 2014, we began a project to build a Waldorf School specializing in teacher training. The project has a very suggestive organic design, using sustainable construction processes, such as raw earth extracted from the ground itself, tempered glass recycled from factory waste, and wood from fallen trees. The construction of the structural walls made of rammed earth (raw earth packed into plastic-coated wooden forms) was carried out by some employees interested in learning, who were trained on site.
The project simulates a large bird perched on a warm earth, with the façade resembling a prominent beak and two wings (one concave and the other convex) seemingly taking flight. The interior space houses two classrooms for training teachers in anthroposophy. The roof has a wooden structure supporting the phyillostachys bamboos and the upper organic surface on the ceiling.
A model project, widely visited in the region, with numerous compliments – including from the Mayor of Agudos, Everton Octaviano, who made several visits to the site during the execution of the work.
